Vision Statement

Background
Helm is an established and respected property developer and general builder. There are three trading divisions that are covered by a single trading ethos:

Helm’s three divisions are Helm Homes (defined as property), Helm Construction and Helm projects.
Helm Homes specialises in the development (new build) and redevelopment (conversion) of traditionally styled properties and modern contemporary homes.
Helm Construction caters for smaller projects such as extensions, conversions and general building activities.
Helm Projects focuses on the provision of residential, commercial and specialist application property development either as a main or sub contractor. It also caters for the full construction, design and management of projects for clients wishing to develop individual homes or premises.

Vision 2008/9
‘To grow the three business divisions whilst ensuring that each is independently profitable and that each operates within Helm’s trading ethos’.
Helm will acquire ‘New Build’ sites at a rate of one every four to six months which have a minimum build capacity of four units in support of its Homes division. Each site must yield a minimum net profit of 18%. The Homes division will continue to be the businesses core activity.
Helm will market it Construction business to the immediate locality. It will concentrate on larger domestic projects with a minimum retail value of £4000 and will achieve sales this year of £150,000. This division must produce a minimum gross profit of 22%.
Helm will promote its Projects business to selected Main Contractors and Developers. A gross margin of 15% will be obtained from this business division. It is anticipated that the revenue will develop throughout the year producing sales of £41,600.
